TikTok Creator Rewards Program, explained

What it is, who can join, which views count and how TikTok pays, straight from its official terms and the Creator Academy.

Updated on September 28, 2026

Where the program comes from.

It's how TikTok pays for videos of a minute or more, based on their qualified views. It grew out of the Creativity Program Beta, which replaced the Creator Fund in the US, the UK, France and Germany.

01

Creator Fund (2020)

The Creator Fund launched in the US on July 22, 2020, and later reached Europe.
02

Creativity Program Beta (2023)

Launched on February 20, 2023, by invitation, for original videos longer than a minute. On May 3 it opened to every US creator with 10,000 followers and 100,000 views in 30 days.
03

The end of the Creator Fund

From December 16, 2023, the Creativity Program fully replaced the Creator Fund in the US, the UK, France and Germany.
04

Creator Rewards Program (2024)

On March 18, 2024, the Creativity Program came out of beta with its current name.
05

Additional Reward and Mexico (2025)

In spring 2025 TikTok added the Additional Reward for quality, and on October 1, 2025 the program arrived in Mexico.

What counts as a qualified view.

Only qualified views earn rewards. TikTok's definition, point by point:

01

Five seconds or more

A view counts when someone watches for at least five seconds and doesn't tap “Not interested”.
02

One per account

Several views from the same account count as one.
03

Only from the program's countries

Two things are required: you have to live in one of the program's countries, and the view has to come from one of them. A view from a country where the program isn't available doesn't count.
04

From Search, 30 seconds

Views that come from Search count when they last at least 30 seconds.
05

No ads, no fraud

Ads, paid promotions and sponsored content don't count, and neither do fraudulent or paid views, your own views or views from View Boost.

How rewards are calculated.

Since spring 2025, what you earn is the sum of two parts. Not every video you post will earn rewards.

01

Standard Reward

The base, calculated from qualified views. It depends on where your viewers are and on the language of your content.
02

Additional Reward

A bonus tied to quality: average watch time, retention, completion rate and search value. Together with the Standard Reward, it sets your RPM.
03

What TikTok calls quality

Well-crafted videos (polished production and clear storytelling), engaging and specialized, in 1080p or higher.
04

The four criteria from 2024

When it launched the program, TikTok named originality, play duration, search value and audience engagement.
05

By invitation: Specialized Rewards

The US terms let TikTok invite creators to a monthly Specialized Rewards Program; according to Social Media Today, for film and TV, auto, learning and sports.
06

No official rate

TikTok doesn't publish how much it pays per 1,000 views, and its terms require creators to keep the program's metrics confidential. For an estimate, use our TikTok money calculator.

How to sign up.

First check whether your account qualifies: in TikTok Studio, the monetization section shows the programs you can join.

01

Open TikTok Studio

Go to your profile, tap the menu (☰) and open TikTok Studio.
02

Choose Creator Rewards Program

You'll find it inside TikTok Studio.
03

Apply

TikTok replies within three days. If it rejects you, you can apply again after 30 days.
04

Finish onboarding to get paid

Tax information, a payment method in your own name and identity verification.

When and how you get paid.

The dashboard in TikTok Studio shows your cumulative rewards; payouts follow a monthly cycle.

01

A daily estimate

The program dashboard shows an estimate in US dollars, updated every day.
02

On the 15th, from $50

Each month's rewards are calculated the following month and paid on the 15th, as long as they reach $50 (in the EEA, or its equivalent in local currency).
03

Below the minimum

In the EEA the amount is transferred anyway; in the US, it may expire at TikTok's discretion.
04

Through PayPal or other methods

In the US and the EEA, PayPal through Hyperwallet; in Mexico, TikTok Wallet or PayPal.
05

Taxes and identity

You have to complete your tax information and verify your identity, and rewards may be taxable. TikTok doesn't issue invoices for these payouts.
06

There may be a cap

The US terms let TikTok set a monthly or annual cap per creator; it doesn't publish the figure.

What doesn't earn.

Videos and accounts that TikTok leaves out of the program, according to its terms and the Creator Academy:

01

Short or barely seen videos

Videos under a minute, or with fewer than 1,000 qualified views.
02

Duets, Stitches and Photo Mode

None of them earn, even if they meet everything else.
03

Ads and sponsored content

Ads, paid promotions and sponsored content don't earn in the program.
04

Unoriginal or low-quality content

Copied, reused without creative edits, combined from other sources without adding anything, or with someone else's watermark; also split screens, meaningless reactions, low-quality images and slide videos.
05

Contact details or clickbait in the profile

An account whose profile includes personal or business contact information, or that mainly exists to attract followers, likes or ad clicks, isn't eligible.
06

Violations, deleted or private videos

Five video violations in 30 days leave you out; five account violations, for good. Deleted or private videos don't get paid.

AI videos and no face on camera.

What TikTok's official texts say, and what they don't:

01

The program says nothing about AI or your face

Neither the program's terms nor its Creator Academy articles mention AI or require you to be on camera. They ask for original, high-quality content that's eligible for the For You feed, and the final call is TikTok's.
02

Label it when it looks real

AI content that shows realistic-looking people or scenes must be labeled. Artistic styles such as anime don't need it, and neither does generic synthetic narration, as long as it isn't the recognizable voice of a known person.
03

The label doesn't cut reach

According to TikTok, turning on the AI-generated content setting doesn't affect a video's distribution as long as it follows the Community Guidelines.
04

What can leave you out

Slide videos, low-quality images, little original input, or using automation to run many accounts or post repetitive content. TikTok doesn't define what a “slide video” is. And conspiracy theories that blame powerful groups or institutions and are likely to undermine public trust or distort a matter of public importance aren't eligible for the For You feed.
05

Nobody can guarantee a video earns

Based on what TikTok has published, an AI video with no face on camera is neither banned nor guaranteed to earn: it's TikTok's call.

Make your TikTok videos, without being in them.

Bandi makes them and posts them for you. Whether they earn is up to TikTok.
